TeamDockrey in 2021
A lot of people like to claim a word for the year or a piece of Scripture. Some people make New Years Resolutions and/or goals. I like that a new year can give us new perspective or provide us with a sort of reset button. No doubt, such perspective or reset is absolutely a gift from the Lord. He is a God of Hope. He’s got a holy purpose and plan. What a joy it is to rest in that and to trust in that. So, for 2021, TeamDockrey will continue to walk in this hope, to trust in His plan, and keep investing our lives into the lives of missionary kids and their families. And now, we have the privilege of doing just that from our new home! That’s right, we’ve moved into an actual house here in Kandern, Germany. It’s been a bit of work making it our home, but it is certainly a step up from the 90 square meter apartment that we’ve been in since we arrived.
I don’t even know how to adequately describe how incredible it is to have this place, to have God answer our prayers for a place that fits our family so well. We have an actual laundry room as opposed to the washing machine on one side of the toilet and the dryer on the other side, in the bathroom that we all shared!
We were able to actually go OUTSIDE in our own yard on New Years Eve and have sparklers and fireworks!
Our new house has a real sized kitchen and a garage (maybe the boys bikes won’t be stolen again), REAL closets and even a space for guests to come and visit!
So, we reflect on how awesome God worked through the ministry He called us to here in 2020 - we got to walk beside students whose parents have made the ultimate sacrifice in the very dark places of the world, we got to enter into a community of believers who are committed to making His Name known, and we got to continue to learn about and step into so many different cultures around the world through this unique place called Black Forest Academy.
And now, we look forward to our “reset button” in this new home, but in this familiar place where God is so obviously at work. TeamDockrey is so thankful for the privilege to play even this small role in impacting the world with the Gospel message. We’re excited for what 2021 has in store!
