'Tis the Season
This season of life for us is unlike anything we've ever known.Yet, at the same time, has glimpses of familiarity with it.I'm not even sure how to explain it.It's a crazy scary thing to just give up your life and all that you know to pursue something that other people may not really understand. But, isn't that what Christ compels us to do every single day, in the way that we live our life? So, really, we're just walking in obedience to the small things that He calls us to be about. And as we put one step of obedience in front of the other, I know that He is going to make this season of the Team Dockrey story so incredibly glorious.It feels like we are in some sort of a holding pattern, but all the while - there is certainly nothing still or relaxed or quiet about this season of holding. I can't even wrap my head around all the many things that need to be done, while we simultaneously live out our normal lives of jobs and kids and church and camp and school and sports and toddlers and birthdays and holidays and family and the list goes on.This is, without a doubt, a season of our lives that will change us for forever. We have no other choice but to rely on Him - His timing, His providence, His provision, His strength, His peace. It's terrifying and beautiful all at the same time. Because there is so much to be done and because a very good portion of the things that have to happen are beyond anything we could conjure up or control, we literally have no other choice but to place our faith in Him.And there is no other place we'd rather be.We are so incredibly excited about the ministry that He has called us to. The ability to invest in the lives of missionary kids so that their families can be empowered to continue their Kingdom work all over the world is just a super cool thing that we feel humbled and excited and overjoyed to be about. So, we trust the process and the path that He has placed us on to get there.If you're reading this blog, you probably love us (or are related to us and don't have a choice but to love us). So, can we just ask you to PRAY? Pray for this season of our lives. Pray for clear vision and for ministry partners to go on this journey with us.
